Our Baby Bouquets are fast becoming our best selling baby hamper! Wrapped baby clothes into a beautiful bouquet. It is really taking off.

This was the response from the double baby bouquet we wrote about in the last entry:
“Thank you so much for the most beautiful gift I have ever received for my baby girl! It’s just to stunning to open, I may even end up keep it as an decor piece in her room. You truly know how to make me feel special, so thank you again, I truly appreciate it.”

Baby Bouquet

We launched a whole lot of products a little while ago and one of the most popular and unique to South Africa, is the Baby Bouquet. Basically; it is baby clothes like babygrow, hat, socks, leggings, bib and items like a facecloth all made into what resembles a bouquet of flowers – therefore the name “Baby Bouquet”. It is then packed in a handmade flower tin (re-usable) with tissue paper and wrapped in cellophane with a tag. They really look amazing when made up and it is such a suprise for the recipient to get this gift that looks like flowers and then to realise it is actually baby items! They are available in pink, blue and neutral.

The other day we packed one for a baby shower, a really great gift if you give it in person or in your absence.

We just dispatched a double baby bouquet, the same concept except with double the amount of items and packed in a flower container that looks like a bag (also re-useable) – and it came out beautifully!! Hope mom loves it!

Making a difference with Feed the Babies Fund

Feed the Babies Fund is a registered non-profit charity organisation that provides meals and other items of need to orphans and vulnerable children in the rural areas, informal settlements and townships of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. They focus their efforts on babies and toddlers under the age seven. They receive no Government funding and as such rely solely on public donations.

They offer correct feeding through the provision of nutritious foodstuffs to the creches; and secondly, endeavour to assist in education and provide some comfort and joy for the children in the form of clothing, bedding, toys and educational items.

2give Unique Hampers & Gifts donates 10% of profit from the sale of our popular Jelly Baby Gift Basket to Feed the Babies Fund to help feed over 8102 children in 191 crèches (as at August 2010). Our children cannot be educated properly without proper nutrition and education changes lives – like lowers HIV infection rates and teenage pregnancy, as well as eradicating poverty and uplifts entire communities.

Condolences Hamper

We just put together two gifts in one for a Condolences Hamper. We did a Get Well Hamper a little while ago for Heinrich Brüssow, which was from Springbok team sponsor, Sasol. The hamper included some great goodies for someone who needs some bed rest, like: Sports Magazines, Droewors, Biltong Chips, Woolies Nuts, Crunchy Stix, Dried Fruit and Ferrero Roche Chocolates and Sally Williams Nougat.

St. Patrick’s Day Hamper

Many hamper companies overseas have a huge range of St. Patrick’s Day Hampers and I guess it has never really hit South Africa to the same extent (except in the pubs tonight where green drinks and clover Guinness will be drunk in the thousands of litres!), mostly because we have descendants from many different cultures and Irish is the minority? Or so we thought!

This year we did a great St. Paddy’s Day Hamper with great Irish treats like Guinness (it would not be complete without it!), Irish Cream Liquer Chocolates, Hob Nobbs, Irish Chocolate Digestives, Dubliner Cheese, Toffees, Flangans chips – all it was missing was a bottle of Bushmills (maybe next year?). Wrapped using green tissue, cellophane, modern ribbon in a bright green box – you can never have too much green on St. Patrick’s Day!

Wishing all the Irish and all those that join in, a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day! We look forward to introducing a small range next year.

Valentines Day Hampers

Believe it or not, Valentine’s Day is already upon us! We packed some really nice gifts this year, all in the name of love (and some sexy stuff as well!).

Our most popular Valentine’s Hamper is the Dirty Sexy Honey (the first one above) and is filled with a large range of goodies perfect for a romantic night together. We even had an order packed to the brim with extra chocolates and Chase, a cute Russ gorilla holding a heart!

The other hamper above is Sweet Heart – I guess the name says it all – a handmade heart shaped basket containing tons of sweets and chocolates (the clients also added extra Champagne to these hamper). The nice thing about this gift is that you can give it to a friend, lover or even a secret Valentine! We keep all information anonymous so you don’t have to worry about that!

The whole trend this Valentine’s Day was more practical gifts so we had many orders for golf hampers, outdoor hampers or pamper hampers that were wrapped in a Valentine’s theme. At least your love can use the gift afterwards!

Now, for the scary part – this figure diminishes to 33 single men for every 100 women by the time you are 65 or older (these figures are for people who have never been married). You know we are just joking! If humans lived by, and completely trusted statistics, then you would know that more than 1 in every 4 people have a mental illness or in the time it has taken to read this - you have blinked 5 times, 87 babies were born and Macdonald’s just sold 2242 chicken sandwiches! What about the fact that teachers get more Valentine’s cards than anyone else or that you use more calories eating celery than there are in the celery itself- or how about this one: 97% of statistics are made up!!!

In doing the research for this Valentine’s Day article, we found that there are many people in the world who are Anti-Valentine’s Day – in fact, there is even a movie called “I Hate Valentine’s Day” (it is quite ironic because it is a romantic comedy) but anyway, the sentiment is that everyone knows that Valentine’s Day is a money-making holiday created by the card companies. This is probably true, but it more of a marketing phenomenon as they sell over 1 billion cards Valentine’s Cards annually! They are even catching onto this new Anti-Valentine-movement and selling cards with sayings like: Love is for losers and Cupid rhymes with stupid. Marketing is all about needs, isn’t it? Here’s an article with some advice for how to spend Valentine’s Day if you hate it – with tips like: avoid being in public places; watch horror movies at home; have a macho drink (no romantic drinks like cocktails or champagne!).

For everyone else, we have some ideas for Valentine’s Day:

1.) Valentine’s Day should not be the only day you spoil the one you love. Love is something you work on and does not need to necessarily come in the form of a card or present. Things like a home-cooked candlelight dinner or a surprise picnic can mean more that an elaborate gift. Cards that are hand-made or in the form of a love letter are much more sentimental.

2.) Lovers could buy some lingerie (for yourself or your love) or our Dirty Sexy Honey Hamper is perfect for an evening of alone time with essentials like champagne, bath foam, love cuffs and massage oil. We packed the hampers in some bad light so the photos don’t do the hampers justice but they looked so stunning.
